I think it is really important to have fun in day to day life. I also believe that you should make the most of any and every situation and this includes pregnancy! Passed your due date? Don’t mope around at home feeling sorry for yourself- go out and make the most of it! Here are some of the things I have done or wanted to do throughout my pregnancy:
  1. Go to the movies.
  2. Go out to restaurants- not the chain restaurants or family friendly restaurants.
  3. Clean all those things you don’t clean every week in the house. Windows, walls, curtains and blinds are examples.
  4. Organize cupboards/storage space. I went through all my kitchen cupboards, and gave my pantry a spring clean. I went through my wardrobe and donated a lot of clothing to charity and reorganized my wardrobe into sections (tops, dresses, skirts, pants etc).
  5. Get your nursery ready. Wash all clothes, wraps, linen, burping cloths and organize it nicely. Take some photos because
  6. Create a shopping list online- Coles or Woolworths. Woolworths do first 3 deliveries free, Coles do free delivery Wednesdays. This is a fantastic life saver when you need to grab groceries with a grizzly baby.
  7.  Make freezer meals. Make some that can be microwaved, put in the oven, and slow cooker. It’s good to have a variety for different circumstances.
  8. Get a haircut. Make sure it is something that will grow out nicely- it might not be practical to get another haircut in the first few weeks of parenthood.
  9. Get pampered- pedicure, massage, facial, the works! Enjoy ‘me’ time without the guilt!
  10. Go away for a babymoon. Even if it is just a B&B for the weekend. There are endless coupon websites that do fantastic deals if you want to do it on a budget.
  11. Read a book. Something that you enjoy and that isn’t about birth, parenting or breastfeeding.
  12. Take birthing and parenting classes. This is something my partner didn’t want to do. I hate nagging, and don’t want to be ‘that woman’ who nags their significant other so I left it. If I could go back in time, I would’ve nagged!
